Founded in 1992 by Seiji Ozawa as the Saito Kinen Festival and renamed in his honour, the Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival is Japan’s premier summer festival, built around the Saito Kinen Orchestra in Matsumoto. It continues to honour Ozawa’s legacy following his death in 2024.
