Founded in 1900, The Philadelphia Orchestra is one of the “Big Five” American orchestras, long celebrated for the lush, burnished “Philadelphia Sound.” It performs at the Kimmel Center’s Verizon Hall and has been led by conductors including Leopold Stokowski, Eugene Ormandy and Riccardo Muti. Yannick Nézet-Séguin has been its music director since 2012.
