Orchester der Kulturen
Esslingen am Neckar, DE 🇩🇪
Vision The concept of the “Orchestra of Cultures” is based on the vision of uniting the most diverse cultures, their unique sounds, and their instruments into a harmonious whole. In a world marked by misunderstandings and conflicts, music offers a universal language that connects people across all cultural boundaries. It serves as a bridge between peoples and ethnic groups, fostering understanding and respect on both an emotional and intellectual level. History The orchestra was founded in Stuttgart in 2010 as the world’s first ensemble to combine instruments from pop, world music, and classical music. As early as 2011, the orchestra produced its first CD, “Tour Südwest,” in collaboration with SWR. Its first award came in 2013: the Manfred Rommel Prize from the German-Turkish Forum. Starting with the CD “Schön ist die Welt,” the orchestra stormed the German classical charts together with crossover tenor Jay Alexander. In 2021, the international breakthrough followed with the album “A World Symphony,” released by Universal, featuring Lebanese singer Abeer Nehme.
